Event | Branded Content: Making Films with Brands
This Thursday, July 25 event will feature the expertise of Sub-Genre Founder Brian Newman.
Branded content is on the rise, with companies as varied as Starbucks, Marriott, Square, Patagonia, and Red Bull launching feature films, short-form, episodic, and cross-platform media projects. Where in the past brands relied on advertising and/or product-placement, they are now working with filmmakers to make films with no direct brand connection. Brands are often willing to give creative control and final cut to the producers/artists, and are even working with auteurs such as Werner Herzog and David Gordon Green.
This event, presented on July 25 by Sub-Genre Founder Brian Newman, will cover the current state of branded content, show examples of brand campaigns, analyze the creative process, and look at the distribution and marketing campaigns associated with these films. We’ll cover the pros and cons of working with brands, best practices and tips and tools for pitching your project ideas to brands, and how to manage this process. “Branded Content: Making Films with Brands” is geared towards both filmmakers and creative professionals who want to work in branded content from the business-side.
