Monday Motivation | Qualify This
Kick off your week with Monday Motivation!
Tip of the week
Job seekers, it pays to focus on applying for jobs for which you’re qualified. But that doesn’t mean that you should necessarily hold back if you think you’re a good fit. Don’t have training (yet) in a particular computer program or mastery of a certain skillset listed in the job posting? Employers often don’t expect applicants to check off every single desired skill. (And it’s worth noting that women tend to apply for jobs for which they feel 100% qualified, while men apply for jobs for which they’re 60% qualified, according to research.) Don’t have a college degree? More and more employers are prioritizing experience over credentials, like Google, IBM, and others.
