In this edition, we invited you to give NYFA a high five; rounded-up a few can’t-miss events featuring immigrant artists; paid homage to Fay Chiang; and more. Here are the highlights:
- A letter from Felicity Hogan, Director of NYFA Learning, explaining how to help NYFA keep supporting the arts. A $5 donation to NYFA would be greatly appreciated.
- Featured events with immigrant artists, including The Irish Arts Center Winter Solstice Celebration, the Jamaican tradition of the Grand Market, and the play Hij@s De La Bernarda.
- 19 opportunities to close down the year feeling accomplished! You can submit your chapbook to The Center for Book Arts Poetry Chapbook Program for a chance to have it beautifully designed and published; apply for the Socrates Sculpture Park – Emerging Artist Fellowship 2018 to receive a production grant, five-month studio access, and exhibition opportunity; and more.
- November’s Featured Subscriber, Italian performance artists Grazia Capri, who has been practicing dance since she was five years old.
- A summary what’s happening on NYFA Current, including our resources round-up for artists recovering from the impact of Hurricane Maria, which can also be read in Spanish.
- More resources for immigrants including NoMAA’s Technical Assistance Institute’s mini-symposium organized around the general theme of alternative, community-based, arts and culture programming in the uptown neighborhoods; and Chamber Music America’s 40th Anniversary Conference.
