In this hands-on workshop, artists learn to write compelling and lively grant applications to fund their artistic projects. Based on Gigi Rosenberg’s book, The Artist’s Guide to Grant Writing, the workshop provides examples of how to enlist a team to help write an application, research funding, decode application questions, and let grant writing propel your career forward. Specifically, you will learn:
- How writing a grant benefits your career
- How to create a detailed budget that supports your application
- What criteria to use for choosing a strong work sample
- Why you need to answer the questions that many applications don’t ask
Limited space is available and pre-registration is required. This workshop will be $15 for NYFA affiliated artists (current fiscally sponsored artists, Fellows, and IAP mentors, and mentees) and $20 for the general public. Artists of all experience levels are welcome to attend.
