Reminder: #ArtistHotline Returns October 19
Are you ready for this month’s Artist Professional Development Day? Join us on Twitter for tips on building and sustaining your arts career!
#ArtistHotline takes place on Twitter on the third Wednesday of every month, from 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST. NYFA staff, arts organizations, and artists of all disciplines come together to create an online dialogue around the professional side of artistic practice. The next #ArtistHotline is coming your way on Wednesday, October 19. We’ll discuss a range of topics, from crowdfunding to networking and more.
This month, we’ll have a special Guest Chat on the topic of “Social Media for Promotion” from 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM EST. Learn more about the Guest Chat with Susan Mumford and 21C Media Group’s Garrett Eng here. Get a sneak peak of the social media techniques and best practices we’ll discuss by reading our interview with Mumford, founder of the Association of Women Art Dealers (AWAD) and Be Smart About Art, here.
Are you wondering which social media platforms are best for you? Do you believe an artist’s residency is in your future, but you’re not sure how to make it happen? Or, are you hoping to learn about tools that’ll help you track your social media performance? Then join in on Wednesday, and send us those questions using the hashtag #ArtistHotline.

Inspired by the NYFA Source Hotline, #ArtistHotline is a new initiative dedicated to creating an ongoing online conversation around the professional side of artistic practice. #ArtistHotline occurs on the third Wednesday of each month on Twitter. Our goal is to help artists discover the resources needed, online and off, to develop sustainable careers.
This initiative is supported by the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation.
