For arts administrators in the New York City area

Being an arts administrator is tough. Diminishing funding, limited grants, board recruitment competition… the struggle is real. But help is on the way: apply now to join us in the new year for the Emerging Leaders Boot Camp Program 2016!

NYFA’s Emerging Leaders Boot Camp is a free, year-long program that provides leadership training for up to 25 arts administrators. The program will focus on principles of leadership, personnel, board development, fundraising and strategic planning. Participants will be given skills that will assist them in their current roles in order to be more effective within their own organization, and in addition, they will also develop training that will help them assume leadership roles in the future.

The structure includes a 5-day intensive with a rigorous blend of presentations, formal lectures, individual leadership assessment and break out groups (February 29-March 4). During the year the program provides check-ins, (half-day and evenings), individual consultations and a two-day final session. See the full schedule.

Who can apply?

• Mid-level administrators employed by non-profit arts organizations with budgets over $150,000
• Executive Directors from non-profit arts organizations with budgets under $150,000
• Commitment to mandatory attendance to all sessions
• Open to participants from the New York Metropolitan Area within commuting distance of New York City

When should you apply? 
Now! But you do have until Thursday, January 21, 2016, 11:59 PM EST 

Where is it? 
NYFA’s Office: 20 Jay Street, 7th floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201 (Participants will be informed of any location changes during the program.)

When is it? 
The 5-day intensive is from February 29-March 4. Visit the Boot Camp page for the year-round schedule. Attendance is mandatory at all sessions. It is a Boot Camp, after all. 

Will I have to do any pushups? 
It’s highly unlikely.
