Part of a multi-pronged effort to support and uplift Queens’ cultural community.

To further bolster Queens’ local arts and culture scene, NYFA and Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. announced programs to support Queens-based creatives. They are as follows:

On-Demand Courses and Bespoke Programming

NYFA Learning will provide Queens creatives access to on-demand courses custom-created for artists to help advance their creative career—on their own time, at their own pace. The courses provide over 2.5 hours of instructional videos, dynamic exercises, and quizzes. Created by NYFA staff, artists, and industry experts, the individual courses include:

  • Mapping Your Creative Career ($35 value): Participants create a customized career plan that encapsulates what they want to achieve as an artist, walking away with actionable and attainable next steps that reflect their vision.
  • Writing About Your Work ($35 value): Creatives develop an effective bio and artist statement to unlock opportunities—enabling art professionals and supporters to understand and connect with their artistic practice.

NYFA will provide 50 free courses to Queens artists, or 25 seats in each course, to be issued on a lottery basis. Following access to the courses, each group of 25 artists will be invited to attend a live community-building and Q&A session hosted by NYFA.

To enter your name, please complete this form by Wednesday, October 23.
