November is a time for action, reflection, connecting with friends and family, and taking in powerful performances. Here are a few opportunities to enjoy the arts in New York, courtesy of NYFA Fiscally Sponsored artists!
This Sunday, November 4, catch Parthenia Viol Consort perform Music with Her Silver Sound. Collaborating with the New World Recorders, Parthenia will be performing masterpieces from Italy and England at the Corpus Christi Church in Manhattan at 4:00 PM. Choreographer Yin Mei will perform The Magnificent Peony Dreams at 6:30 PM on Thursday, November 8 at the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center, The CUNY Graduate Center, in Manhattan, with a panel discussion immediately following. Excerpts of her previous works will be screened at 2:00 PM on the same date. All events are free and open to the public!
Join Panoply Performance Laboratory on Saturday, November 10 at 8:00 PM in Brooklyn for their final Civic Reflex (Reflejo Civico) of 2018. The collective performance art project will be presented in collaboration with Brooklyn International Performance Art Foundation, and is free to the public. Participating artists include Ada Pinkston, Lorene Bouboushian, Arantxa Araujo, Helen Yung, and David Ian Bellows/Griess.
