Can’t believe January is over?
Neither can we, but now it’s time to get excited for February! NYFA affiliated artists will be really busy this month and we invite you to attend exhibition openings, video screenings and more. Check out the list below for upcoming events this month:
Lori Nix (Fellow in Photography ‘04)

Coco Fusco (Fellow in Nonfiction ’91, ’14)
Has an exhibition at Alexander Gray Associates coming up. Screenings of her seminal videos which she created throughout the last 20 years will be included.

Edwin Torres (Fellow in Poetry ’01)
Is one of four artists who are part of Memories Un-Remembered: Thinking of Home (Longing) at Bronx Music Heritage Center Laboratory which is partnering with BxArts Factory. The exhibition will open this Saturday at 6:00 PM. For more info on the opening reception click here.

Wendell Castle (Fellow in Crafts ’86)
The sculptor and furniture maker is showing his works in the exhibition Wendell Castle Remastered at the Museum of Art and Design.

Mark Dean Veca (Fellow in Painting ’98,’02,’08)
Is featured in the 3rd Annual POW! WOW! Exploring The New Contemporary Movement exhibition at the Honolulu Museum of Art School in Hawaii. The opening reception will be this coming Sunday, February 7 at 6:00 PM.

Mary Ting (Fellow in Printmaking/Drawing/Artists’ Books ’01, ’07)

Chinatown Soup (NYFA Fiscally Sponsored Organization)
Is hosting a night to celebrate the launch of Gersten’s Custom Melodies, an interactive, multimedia, web-art piece with over 100 songs.

Susan Botti (Fellow in Music Composition ’88, Music/Sound ’13)
For the second NYFOS Next event composers Susan Botti and Richard Danielpour will host a night filled with songs by the Manhattan School of Music composition department. The event will take place at the National Opera Center in Manhattan.
