Back to Life: Resurrection Reimagined will be closing on Sunday, May 31, 2015. The partnering exhibition between NYFA and St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church is held in the sanctuary of the historic Saint Ann & the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Brooklyn Heights.
With both site-specific and already realized works by ten contemporary artists, Back to Life: Resurrection Reimagined features multiple thematic interpretations relating to the concept of resurrection and renewed life set within the context of the 168 year-old church. In 14 panels spanning balconies along the main sanctuary’s north and south sides, the artists express their particular ideas about resurrection. While most commonly associated with Christian theologies about Jesus Christ, resurrection remains a central theme within many religions, mythologies and, belief systems.
