Event | The Artist as Entrepreneur
Day-long professional development event to be held at NYFA on February 12 in collaboration with College Art Association (CAA).
College Art Association (CAA) has partnered with The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) to deliver NYFA’s renowned Artist as Entrepreneur program on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, the day before CAA’s 2019 Annual Conference begins.
The Artist as Entrepreneur was customized to fit the needs of CAA artist members as well as for New York-based artists. It offers the fundamental principles of sustainability—and ultimately profitability—in the arts. This workshop will focus on strategic planning, fundraising, and marketing, with additional material drawn from NYFA’s newly-revised second edition The Profitable Artist (Allworth Press, 2018).
The program’s structure is a rigorous blend of breakout groups, interactive presentations, and panels with an opportunity for dialogue. Participants work through a flexible and dynamic “action plan” and Business Model Canvas, entrepreneurial tools that provide a blueprint for your practice or specific projects. An opportunity for networking is provided from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Registrants will also receive a ticket to a session of their choice at the CAA Annual Conference.
Connect with other artists as you build the business skills essential to supporting your creative career.
