Build Your Own Table: Writers on Self-Publishing
September 10 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
FreeThe only way to build a consistent audience for your writing is to share it publicly. Traditional publishing typically operates with many barriers, making it challenging for most to find a home for their work within it.
Instead of waiting and waiting to be invited to someone else’s table, why not build your own?
NYFA invites you to join us remotely for “Build Your Own Table: Writers on Self-Publishing.” Writer Kyle Carrero Lopez will moderate a conversation with writers Marlowe Granados and Bud Smith, followed by a Q&A.
This session will offer attendees with strategies and best practices for publishing your work independently, from the perspective of writers with experience in both traditional and self-publishing.
Topics will include: choosing the right platform(s) for one’s work; building a model of sharing work that keeps an audience engaged; monetizing a subscription service like a Substack; and more.
