A contemporary art gallery located in downtown Manhattan focusing on intercultural dialogue is looking for an administrative intern. This is an exciting opportunity to learn how to organize exhibitions and to get exposed to the workings of a gallery showing a wide roster of local and international artists. IMPORTANT: your school must have an ability to apply the internship experience towards your academic credit.
The intern will have the chance to enhance their research, editing and organization skills and their ability to interact with various constituents in the field. This role is ideal for candidates seeking to gain more experience in the art world and particularly in a contemporary gallery/start-up operations. The internship will be supervised by am experienced member of the gallery's staff and will enhance the applicant's professional skills and future prospects of employment within the industry.

As this internship sometimes requires moving a variety of objects, you must be comfortable with hands-on tasks, including occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
The internship is expected to last for thee months. Min 3 days per week commitment with occasional availability for a few exhibition openings after hours.
