Highly established artist studio seeks a goal-oriented and qualified candidate to join our Art Handling, Production, and Shipping team. The successful candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude and be able to handle deadlines and pressure with high levels of professionalism and efficiency. Must have experience in an art shipping warehouse or private studio handling large quantities of artworks ranging in size and scale - including substantially sized paintings.
Absolutely must be able to lift up to 75 LBS.
The successful candidate will be production oriented, able to handle pressure under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
Crate building experience and woodshop/carpentry skills is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining studio upkeep
- Daily handling of artworks of significant size including installation and de-installation of large-scale works, sometimes exceeding 60 lbs.
- Lift and move crates with team by hand and/or with pallets and pallet jack
- Working with shippers to ensure trucks or containers are properly loaded/off-loaded
- Packing artworks for local and international shipments
- Record, process, and file shipping paperwork with timeliness and accuracy
Requirements:
-Art handling and packaging experience
-Familiarity with industry standard packing methods and materials
-Able to utilize hand tools, power tools, and equipment
-Experience with SawStop table saw, miter saw, and saw panels a plus
-Background in fine arts facilities or institutions preferred

- Able to work in diverse creative environment where multiple projects occur in fast-paced environment on daily basis
Must be available to commute to Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. Position is full-time, M-F 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM. Salary is commensurate with experience with a benefits package offered for full-time employees.
