Status and location: This is a short-term full-time, exempt role based in our Brooklyn office and Prospect Park Bandshell from June - mid-October. General office schedule is 10am-6pm with the exception of events/show days. You will be onsite for all events and performances. Exact schedule TBD based on needs of the programs.

About the Senior Producer, Live Music & Events Role: 


BRIC seeks a Senior Producer to execute BRIC’s live music programs & multiplatform media productions, including BRIC JazzFest and BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival.


What You’ll Do in the Role:


The Senior Producer will be responsible for the following in addition to any other project as assigned by their manager, the Chief Program Officer:


Production

  • Produce and serve as event manager for BRIC House programs including but not limited to, BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn, Jazzfest, Poetry Slam, Stoop Share, BRIC Hip Hop, and various programs led by BRIC’s programming staff.
  • Develop and manage key relationships with local, national, and international artists, artist management, promoters, directors, producers, and related stakeholders.
  • Support the development and execution of a comprehensive outreach plan, including program attendance, community engagement, and membership goals.
  • Work closely with the Chief Program Officer to execute the programmatic mission and curatorial vision of BRIC Arts Media.
  • Act as the conduit between internal teams and artists to ensure flawless execution of live and multiplatform performances.
  • Work with internal teams to develop and track internal deadlines (including but not limited to: production, IT, marketing, operations, development and sponsorship).
  • Negotiate and secure outside vendors and rates that meet budgetary goals.
  • Work with government affairs and development on fundraising and grant writing.
  • Work with internal & external teams to ensure excellent execution of content capture and/or live stream filming parallel with excellent in-person performance experience.


Administration

  • Manage related program databases including but not limited to CRMs, reports, toolkits, audits, and calendars and utilize project management tools to ensure timely execution of deliverables; regularly submit reports on engagement outcomes to staff, board, and partners.
  • Develop sponsorship, marketing, and fundraising strategies alongside BRIC’s respective administrative and leadership teams. 
  • Manage program expenses to budget defined by supervisors.
  • Oversee and manage the acquisition of permits for BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn and related programs.
  • Support seasonal hiring of BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn and BRIC JazzFest staff and monitor and approve timesheets for part-time and/or freelance staff.
  • Manage artist relations:
  • Negotiate and process artist contracts & riders (with Executive Director and Program Associate).
  • Traffic all artist materials and ensure they reach the proper teams (tech riders, marketing assets) based on internal timelines. 
  • Oversee artist advance, ensuring execution against approved contracts and riders, proactively identifying potential challenges and finding and executing solutions between artists and teams. 
  • Facilitate marketing / promotion requests.
  • Ensure artist payments are processed according to contract terms (with support from Program Associate).
  • Book travel & accommodations as needed. 
  • Manage artist guest list requests. 
  • Be a point of contact and lead support for artists during performance engagement.
  • Supervise assigned staff, consultants, contractors, curators, fellows, and interns.
  • Contribute to curation and programming conversations with internal and external curatorial teams.
  • Work on special projects as needed.

  • Love of live music.
  • 5+ years’ experience producing large-scale music events and/or live television/film productions.
  • Impeccable project management & organizational skills.
  • Experience working directly with artists and their teams.
  • Working knowledge of talent contracts & riders.
  • Experience in interactive media/digital programming a plus.
  • Communication & Relationship Building: An emotionally intelligent, values- and results-driven team player. Ability to quickly solve problems under pressure with diplomacy and tact. Ability to anticipate and address needs of artists and crew. Desire to be flexible and collaborative in a transitional, fast-paced environment. Impeccable communication skills with a variety of stakeholders.
