Position Overview

We are currently seeking a full-time, experienced Art Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate is a skilled, detail-oriented, and reliable professional with a passion for fine art and high-end framing. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment where precision and craftsmanship are paramount. You will be responsible for fitting, handling, and framing valuable works of art while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Fitting artwork into custom-designed frames with precision and care
• Handling and installing high-end art with a focus on preservation and presentation
• Cutting and preparing museum-grade glass (including UV protective glass)
• Crafting spacers and fillets for precise fit
• Installing frame glazing and fillets with attention to detail
• Stretching canvases to ensure proper tension and presentation
• Fitting and assembling acrylic display boxes for artwork
• Collaborating with the design team to ensure each project meets client specifications and quality standards

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in art fitting or custom framing
• In-depth knowledge of archival materials and techniques, including archival hinging
• Strong ability to read and interpret frame designs and technical specifications
• Expertise in handling and packing artwork, especially for high-value pieces
• Familiarity with handheld power tools, including drills, cutting tools, and other framing equipment
• Experience in the handling of extremely valuable artwork for high-end clients is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work under pressure
• A team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members
