About
Pace Prints is seeking a Sales Associate for its Gallery at 536 West 22nd Street in Manhattan.
Pace Prints is a fine art print publisher and dealer founded in 1968. The Pace Prints Gallery, which occupies 7,500 square feet on the ground floor, encompasses three significant exhibition spaces that rotate every six weeks.
In addition to its exhibitions, the Gallery maintains a large selection of framed and unframed prints, most of which have been created by over 100 artists in various mediums at the Pace Prints printmaking workshops.
The Sales Associate's responsibilities include administration and sales, with an emphasis on activities that will ensure the Gallery's operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
- Sales Support: Assist sales staff in all aspects of transactions.
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as a liaison between clients and the Gallery, overseeing consignment agreements, sales tax calculations, and coordinating post-sale processes such as invoicing and artwork shipments.
- Client Engagement: Arrange and coordinate client viewings, ensuring a seamless and positive gallery experience.
- Exhibition Coordination: Assist in planning and executing exhibitions, ensuring all logistical details are managed effectively.
- Office Management: Maintain organization files, including sorting and filing electronic and hard-copy correspondence. Open and close gallery space.
- Event & Contact Management: Maintain and update contact lists for exhibitions, dinners, and events. Provide on-site support for gallery openings and VIP events.
- Administrative & Calendar Support: Manage schedules, prepare expense reports, and handle general administrative tasks to support the sales team.
- General Support: Perform additional administrative and operational duties as needed to ensure the Gallery's smooth functioning. Facilitate and communicate between the Gallery and warehouse to ensure the smooth handling of artworks.
Qualifications
- BA and a working knowledge of and passion for modern and contemporary art.
- 1 to 2+ years of experience in an administrative role.
- Experience with Art Logic software is preferable but not necessary.
- Naturally self-motivated, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with efficient use of time for project and task management.
- Ease and ability to maintain discretion with clients and artists.
