Tip of the week

If you’re an artist, you’ve probably been asked for a bio before; either when applying to an open call, joining a panel, or attempting to get press coverage for an event. But not only artists should spend time crafting a good bio; arts administrators should also have one at hand at all times. Knowing how to explain who you are and what your professional narrative is in no more than 250 words might come in handy in several scenarios. For example, when populating your social media channels (especially LinkedIn), writing a networking email, asking for introductions, and even pitching a new project. Not sure where to begin? Google a few templates for starters, practice a lot, and ask a friend to review your copy.
