Open Call: Rhythms of the Unseen

Asian Art Contemporary is pleased to announce an open call for submissions to our upcoming virtual exhibition, Rhythms of the Unseen. We welcome contemporary Asian artists worldwide to submit works aligned with this theme.

Rhythms of the Unseen explores the invisible forces that shape artistic expression—movements, emotions, and histories that pulse beneath the surface of each work. This exhibition brings together artists whose practices embrace the subtle yet dynamic interplay of form, gesture, and presence. Through their distinct approaches, they reveal a world beyond the visible, where intuition, memory, and cultural influences intertwine. The exhibition invites viewers to tune into these silent rhythms, discovering the unspoken dialogues and hidden energies that give each piece its depth and resonance.

Who Can Apply

• Open to Asian artists working worldwide.
• Artists at any stage of their careers are encouraged to apply.
• Submissions in both traditional and digital mediums (painting, sculpture, photography, video, mixed media, etc.) are welcome.
• Artwork must be original. Artists are responsible for copyright compliance.

Prizes

• Virtual Exhibition: Selected artists will have their work showcased in a curated virtual exhibition.
• Artist Interviews: All selected artists will be provided with free artist interviews to share their creative processes and stories.
• Digital Certificates: First, second, and third place winners will receive official digital certificates recognizing their achievements.
• Social Media Promotion: All selected artists will be promoted on our Instagram account.

Fees

• Early Bird Submission Fee: $25 (until April 20, 2025)
• Submission Fee: $35
• Submission fees are non-refundable.

Important Dates

• Early Bird Submission Deadline: April 20, 2025 
• Final Submission Deadline: May 31, 2025 
• Notification of Selection: June 13, 2025 
• Opening of Exhibition: June 23, 2025 
• End of Exhibition: August 31, 2025

Submission Guidelines

• Up to 3 images and/or 1 video.
• Brief bio/artist statement
• CV (if applicable)
• Portfolio website (if applicable)
• Social media handles (if applicable)

Submitted images should be renamed as follows:

Firstname_Lastname_Title_Medium_Dimensions_Year.jpeg

JPEG files should not exceed 1MB. Selected artists will be contacted for high-resolution images. For video submissions, time-based or kinetic artwork can be presented in videos limited to 2 minutes. For security reasons, we cannot access sites with passwords or download attachments from the web.

We do not accept submissions via email.

Notes

• Only selected artists will be contacted due to the high volume of submissions.
• This exhibition is curated solely to promote the work and practice of the selected artists.
• Asian Art Contemporary does not proceed with sales or handle sales inquiries related to the artwork on display.
• 1 entry per artist. Only the first entry will be considered in the case of duplicated submissions.
