Social | #ArtistHotline: July 19 Artist Professional Development Day
Which professional development topics will we tackle this year for #ArtistHotline? Join us on Twitter to find out!
Last month, we were joined by artists, advocates, and arts and culture organizations from across the country as we celebrated the two-year anniversary of #ArtistHotline. #ArtistHotline is a monthly Artist Professional Development Day where artists and arts professionals discuss how to create sustainable careers in the arts, and we’re excited to see what this next year will bring. Please join us throughout the day on Wednesday, July 19, from 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST by including the hashtag #ArtistHotline in each related tweet.
“Creative Materials” Guest Chat
As part of the day, we’ll host a “Creative Materials” Guest Chat from 1:00 – 3:00 PM EST. Our panel, consisting of artist Jennifer Collier, Director of Education for Materials for the Arts, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, John Cloud Kaiser, and cultural strategist Alex Sarian will share tips on making art supplies last, as well as ways to use and gain access to free or affordable supplies.
How to Join the #ArtistHotline Conversation
Do you have questions around creating an artist statement, building a project budget, or starting an arts business? We’d love to hear from you! Here’s how you can join in throughout the day:
- If you don’t already have one, create a free Twitter account now.
- Follow the #ArtistHotline conversation live on Twitter.
- Tweet your questions using the hashtag #ArtistHotline and get responses from our industry experts, partnering organizations, and your fellow artists.
Want to participate but not sure how the day’s chat will play out? Try reading our Tips to Take Best Advantage of the Day. Then, chime in on Twitter on July 19!
Inspired by the NYFA Source Hotline, #ArtistHotline is an initiative dedicated to creating an ongoing online conversation around the professional side of artistic practice. #ArtistHotline occurs on the third Wednesday of each month on Twitter. Our goal is to help artists discover the resources needed, online and off, to develop sustainable careers.
This initiative is supported by the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation.
